Director, Psychodynamic Psychotherapist, Couple Therapist and Clinical Supervisor

Jane is the Director of the Turner Centre and the Stephenson Centre in Ipswich as well as being a practicing psychotherapist and seeing individuals and couples. She has been managing health services for over 25 years and practicing as a psychotherapist for 22 years. She founded the Turner Centre in 2006 and more recently the Stephenson Centre in Ipswich in 2020.

Having had a career in the NHS managing the community health services in Hackney, East London she undertook her first therapy training in 1998. From here she has worked as a specialist palliative care psychotherapist in a hospice setting for almost 10 years seeing individuals diagnosed with a terminal illness and their families. She has facilitated bereavement groups and carers groups as well as designing and facilitating bereavement training programmes and therapy workshops. More recently she has worked in the psychotherapy department in the NHS seeing patients with severe personality disorders for long term psychotherapy and as a seminar leader and tutor on a counselling diploma course in Chelmsford. She worked for Essex County Council as a staff counsellor and a mediator between disputing managers and staff in the work place as well as working at three GP practices in Colchester as their practice counsellor for over 10 years. She holds a busy private practice at the Turner Centre and the Stephenson Centre seeing individuals, couples and supervising other therapists and students as well as managing the two centres.

Jane holds a masters degree (MSc) in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, a Post Grad Cert and Grad in Family, Couple and Systemic Psychotherapy,  Cert in Mediation and Cert in Supervision and is an accredited member of the BACP. She has also completed various NHS health management trainings and is currently undertaking doctoral research at the university of Essex.
