Anyone can contact the Turner Centre to arrange an initial appointment for themselves. You do not need to be referred by your GP.
There are three ways in which you can see one of our therapists. You can look through our therapist profiles under "Meet Out Therapists" and click on their "Check my availablity" where you will see their available appointments. You can then provisionally book an appointment directly with them and send a message via the contact box which will appear on the screen. The therapist will respond to you promptly and confirming the appointment, introducing themselves and giving you directions to the centre.
Alternately, you can phone us on 01206 544458 and speak to our Therapy Services Manager who will talk to you about what you are looking for and how we can help. It is really important that we try to find the right therapist for you. You can also email us at
We do also take referrals from GPs, psychiatrists, social workers, specialist consultants, private industry, solicitors, insurance company's and other healthcare organisations and private healthcare. We have several contracts and private arrangements with various organisations both within the NHS and outside private agencies.
our fees...
Many of our therapists are highly qualified to masters degree level and some at doctoral level and many are accredited with one of the main national therapy organisations. Several have undertaken additional training in specific areas of interest.
Our fees reflect the qualification and experience of our therapists. Newly qualified therapists will charge less than therapists who have been practicing for many years.
If you are on a tight budget, we can offer low cost counselling from our carefully selected trainee / student therapists who are on clinical placement with us and see people for £15 per session. They are required to see individuals as part of their training and qualifying. If you would like to see one of our trainees / student therapists you can phone the centre or send an email requesting to see a trainee and you will be invited to see one of our qualified therapists for an initial appointment first - the fee for this is also £15. This is to ensure that a trainee can adequately support you. From here you will then be referred to one of the trainees who will contact you and arrange a first appointment with them.
