Integrative Counsellor
Alison is an integrative counsellor and has worked at the Turner Centre in private practice since qualifying.
She is experienced in working with individuals suffering with a range of emotional and psychological difficulties and in particular, with trauma. She has experience of working with loss and bereavement and worked with the CRUSE bereavement charity seeing individuals experiencing loss. During her training she held a placement at a children’s centre where she worked with adults experiencing a wide range of difficulties including trauma.
Prior to her counsellor training Alison worked as teacher for many years and has extensive experience in supporting young people.
She has a particular interest and specialism in the effects of trauma on the body.
Alison is a accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Alison holds a diploma in integrative counselling and a Batchelor in Education degree as well as having completed her certification qualification in Complex Trauma.
